Welcome back. Must be a relief to finally have your digestive disorder diagnosed. I have a lot of digestive problems but unfortunately my doctor is not in the least bit interested in finding out what is behind it. She sent me for a blood test then seemed surprised that I returned to see her when the results came up negative. I'm saving up to go back to a private nutritionist.
Have missed you. Weird to say, but true nonetheless. My word! We have exactly the same health problems! I also have IBS and polycystic ovary syndrome. I am on the pill to mange the latter. For the IBS, I have tried everything, but I will look into this book.

Welcome home!
awww - thanks, guys! i feel loved :-)

rev stan - good luck with your innards - yes, it is a huge relief to have a name to go with the problem, even if no hard & fast solution. it sounds like a private nutritionist may indeed be the way to go for you. darn the nhs!

tchatchke - snap! heh. i'm on the pill for the PCOS too and it helps a bit, but i think i could do more. the book i've ordered is called PCOS Diet Book: How You Can Use the Nutritional Approach to Deal with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. It's had some excellent reviews on amazon and looked pretty helpful when i first found it in borders in sydney - i'll let you know how i go with it. IBS is a bugger, though, eh? i seemed to be doing ok with it in sydney while i was taking the fibre supplement my doc suggested, but am having a hell of a time finding the same one here. i think i may need to order it online.
