Marketing has a lot to answer for. Take for example the Waitrose Easy Cook Long Grain Rice. Minim and I grabbed a packet of each and compared the notes. The cooking instructions for both are exactly the same except that the 'normal' rice takes 10-12 minutes to cook, but the Easy Cook rice takes 12-15 minutes to cook.
If it's easier to cook why are the instructions exactly the same for both? What's hard about boiling water anyway? And why does the easy cook take longer than the normal rice?
Go figure!
I miss Australian Cadbury's Dairy Milk chocolate. It's so much nicer than the stuff you get here in England. I'm told that the English version is more accurate - apparently they had to modify the recipie in Australia to prevent it melting in the heat of the day.
One thing about being in England though - at least the Cadbury's Cream Eggs don't melt.
